More than six weeks after sophomore Laura Treanor passed away in her Ivory Tower dorm room, the D.C. Medical Examiner’s office still has not determined the cause of her death.
Both the cause and manner of death are still pending, said Beverly Fields, the D.C. Medical Examiner’s chief of staff. A toxicology report typically takes between 60 and 90 days but can be completed within a month in some cases.
Treanor, 19, was found by her roommates on Jan. 23. A preliminary autopsy found no significant damage to her organs and officials said her death resulted from “natural causes.”
