Four Colonials scored in double figures this afternoon as the GW women’s basketball team beat Princeton 77-56 at Smith Center in their first action since Friday’s home loss to Auburn.
Seniors Jessica Adair and Antelia Parrish led the scoring effort for GW (6-4) with 18 and 15 points, respectively, while tying for the team lead in rebounds with seven.
Parrish also contributed six assists, a total matched by debuting senior guard Yolanda Lavender, who was playing in her first contest as a Colonial after transferring from Wake Forest last winter. Lavender started at point guard and although she shot just three of twelve from the field, she notched a dozen points and also added three steals.
The fourth Colonial in double-figures was freshman forward Sara Mostafa, who had 10 points and six rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench – her most productive collegiate outing to date. Six of those points came from the free-throw line, where she missed just one of her seven attempts.
