The crowds have increased on U Street – an area known for its high percentage of African American residents – to celebrate the lead of Sen. Barack Obama.
With crowded bars and flooded streets, locals have come together to chant, dance and watch as the polls closed and the results were announced.
With CNN on nearly every television in the area, locals reacted to every declared state together.
