Starbucks in Gelman Library has temporarily suspended its 24-hour service due to staffing problems, a store manager said.

The coffee shop chain has enjoyed a steady customer base as a lifeline for students pulling all-nighters or trying to stay awake during that 8 a.m. biology lab but finding employees to staff shifts after 2 a.m. is tricky, said Gary Bobcyk, a store manager.

“We’re hoping to go back to being open 24 hours again soon,” Bobcyk said. “Maybe even as early as next week.”

In the meantime, students will have to get their caffeine fix between the hours of 6:30 and 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, the store closes at 10 p.m.
