Just caught former women’s basketball head coach Joe McKeown’s introductory press conference via the Wildcats’ Web site. McKeown looked pretty happy to be there and sported a new look with a purple tie replacing his old buff ones, but gave kudos to GW a number of times and said he really enjoyed his time in Foggy Bottom.

There wasn’t much news in the way of why he left the DC, but McKeown did seem to be excited about going to a school with a larger athletic program, specifically one with recent success in a women’s sport. (Northwestern captured the women’s lacrosse national championship this year).
