Update, 10:44 p.m. — In his first day back, O’Connor gets the win over the New York Mets. He pitched the sixth inning, giving up one hit and throwing seven of eleven pitches for strikes.
Just got word that former Colonials’ pitcher Mike O’Connor has been called up from the Nationals’ farm team in Columbus. O’Connor played with the Nationals in 2006, starting 20 games and going 3-8 with a 4.80 earned run average.
The GW fireballer was drafted in 2002 by the Montreal Expos, who later became the Nationals. No word yet on when or if he’ll get a start in the near future, but we’ll keep an eye on it.
