Senior Sarah-Jo Lawrence was awarded the College Women’s Basketball Association’s Scholarship. The honor is given to just two players each year; the other recipient is Ashley TeKippe, who plays at DIII Lutheran College. The award is for those “who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the sport of women’s basketball and to academic excellence,” according to a press release.

Lawrence averages 13.2 points per game and also has a 3.85 GPA. She was recently named third-team all-conference and the Atlantic 10’s student-athlete of the year.

The Colonials play tomorrow in the quarterfinals of the A-10 tournament. They face the winner of today’s Rhode Island/St. Bonaventure game.
