You may have read our story this morning about the $1.2 million road being built from the Whitehaven Parkway to Pelham Hall on the Mount Vernon Campus. One thing that may not have come across in the article is the size of the proposed road. Maps available on a University Web site show that the road will span about 300 feet, from the parkway to Pelham. Shown here (right) is the proposed road, as it branches off Whitehaven. Tracy Schario, University spokesperson, said that it costs more because of steep slopes in this area. A full map of the construction plans can be viewed here.
