Update, 8:33 p.m….Tonight’s announced attendance of 1,100 makes this season the most-attended in the history of the program. The Colonials still have one home game left, against Fordham March 1.

Update, 8:27 p.m…Shots haven’t been falling as easily for GW this half but they still maintain a 20-point lead, 61-41, with about 10 minutes left to play.

Update, 7:49 p.m….Colonials up 52-26 at the half. The game has been pretty cut and dry so far, with GW shooting up a storm (nearly 66 percent from the field). Allen is 6-for-6 with 12 points and Lawrence 4-for-5 with 11 points. Unless something goes terribly wrong in the second half, coach Joe McKeown should be emptying his bench early in the period.

Update, 7:42 p.m…Sarah-Jo is back in the game and looks like she’s doing better. She has 11 points.

Update, 7:40 p.m…Senior Sarah-Jo Lawrence is standing at the end of GW’s bench holding a tissue to her nose. A couple minutes ago, she looked a little out of sorts on the court, blinking and sniffling as if she were having an allergy attack.

Update, 7:28 p.m…The Colonials lead 30-19 about 11 minutes in. Senior Whitney Allen has 8 points on 4-for-4 shooting so far. GW hasn’t really been challenged so far except for by sophomore Theresa Lisch, who has 13 for the Billikens.

The No. 17/16 Colonials (20-5, 8-2 Atlantic 10) host the Billikens (10-15, 5-5 A-10). GW is coming off a shocking 63-60 loss at St. Bonaventure last Saturday. The Colonials haven’t lost two in a row since the James Madison and UNLV losses in November. They are also on an 11-game winning streak at home.
Earlier this week, senior Kim Beck was announced as one of ten finalists for the Nancy Lieberman award, which honors the top point guard in Division I women’s basketball. She was up for the same award last season, as well.
Saint Louis has some interesting warm-ups. The tops are solid blue but the pants are blue and white-striped.
Just a few minutes until tip and Smith Center is pretty empty. Perhaps it is the snow. The upper-level seats opposite the student section are also up tonight for the first time in a few games.
