Yes, it’s true. The GW-affiliated, D.C. band Exit Clov has a new music video out for their song, “MKUltra”. For those of you that don’t know what MK Ultra was, Wikipedia has a nice little description:
Project MKULTRA, or MK-ULTRA, was the code name for a CIA mind-control research program that began in 1950, run by the Office of Scientific Intelligence. There is much published evidence that the project involved the use of many types of drugs, as well as other methodology, to manipulate individual mental states and to alter brain function
In the music video, a group of scary government officials wearing gas masks kidnap the two Exit Clov front girls (Emily and Susan Hsu), bring them to their secret laboratory in the middle of nowhere, and conduct weird mind-control experiments on them. Ouch. Not to fear, though– the girls get away in the end…(OR DO THEY!?) It’s pretty weird, but pretty awesome at the same time. Plus, the song rocks.
Exit Clov will play at the Rock and Roll Hotel Friday, February 1st with Army of Me, The Dance Party, Good Night, States, and DJ Cale.
