With the end of The Hatchet’s fall production schedule two days ago, I am turning over the reigns of the always-interesting men’s basektball beat to my co-editor, Joanna Shapes. This has nothing to do with what happened after Sunday night’s game. I’m actually going to study abroad in Dublin, Ireland next semester, which would make covering games back in the homeland pretty difficult. I’ll be back next summer though and if I’m lucky, maybe I’ll get a piece in the April Fool’s issue before then.
I’m going to miss the eight and a half hours of driving to and from Virginia Tech, waking up at 5 am to catch a plane to California, staying in California for three days after GW’s game, writing on deadline, goofing around in Pauley Pavillion after the game, and having fun conversations with players (and sometimes even coaches). I’m also going to miss covering things with Joanna, Ben, Kyle, Tim, Jake, Ryder and Alex, but Dublin should be fun in its own way.
Joanna will do a a great job covering the team and Alex Byers and Dan Greene will help her out.
See y’all over the summer,
Andrew
