George Clooney and other celebrities were on campus this weekend filming scenes for an upcoming film titled “Burn After Reading.”
The film is being directed by the Coen Brothers and features Brad Pitt, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton.
On Sunday afternoon, McDormand was being towed in a car around the Elliott School area while a camera truck filmed. Later in the day, Clooney filmed a scene near the Lincoln Memorial.
After shoots, Clooney, McDormand and Swinton returned to the main production and make-up trailers on 19th and E streets.
The actors and actresses will film in Foggy Bottom, Georgetown and on the National Mall until Tuesday, said production assistant Sage Asteak. The crew arrived in the District on Thursday.
She added that the bulk of the film is being shot in New York.
The Internet Movie Database classifies “Burn After Reading” as a comedy and a drama, in which “a disk containing the memoirs of a CIA agent ends up in the hands of two unscrupulous gym employees who attempt to sell it.”
Asteak said she was unsure whether or not GW will be featured in the final version of the film.
