Happy summer to all! I am not entirely new to this whole blog thing, as I have kept one just a click away at the sports blog. My name is Jake Sherman and I’ve served as sports editor for the last two years, mostly chronicling the fortunes and misfortunes of the GW men’s basketball team. In that time, I’ve been to a total of three Atlantic 10 basketball tournaments, a couple NCAA tournaments and Dayton, Ohio too many times.

I have now moved on to running this place, which is an exciting transition. Even though Foggy Bottom is as all but deserted, The Hatchet has some exciting things coming up. Monday we will release a post-Commencement issue chock full of photos and other exciting coverage of the weekend’s events. In mid June, the CI guide will hit newsstands and the Web.

Stay tuned to The Hatchet for summer updates on news as we cover the presidential forum at Lisner, the new tenant of DJ’s Fastbreak and other things that pop up in Foggy Bottom.
