In the article “Students find their roots in February” (Feb. 22, 2007, p. 1) Kevin Powell was erroneously paraphrased as saying that 65 percent of black women are HIV positive. Powell said that 65 percent of newly diagnosed HIV cases are black women.
In the article “Fewer students run in elections” (Feb. 22, 2007, p. 6), The Hatchet erroneously reported that former SA President Omar Woodard spent $7,000 of SA funds at upscale restaurants. In fact, The Hatchet reported in 2004 that over the last year, previous and current SA officials had spent $7,000 on meals.
