The women’s basketball team defeated Charlotte 65-59 in North Carolina Thursday night. Junior Sarah-Jo Lawrence had 16 points, with sophomores Jessica and Jazmine Adair adding 14 points each. Jessica Adair also had 14 rebounds. The Colonials (22-2, 11-0 Atlantic 10) ended the 49ers’ 22-game home winning streak.

Senior Kenan Cole left the game eight minutes into the first half when she sprained her left ankle after jumping for the ball following a missed free throw. Assistant Sports Information Director Jesse Hooker said that Cole is walking but it is unknown what her game status is for Sunday, when the Colonials play at Saint Louis.
