Former GW standout Danilo (J.R.) Pinnock left his team in Germany and hopes to catch on with a team in Israel, Italy or the NBA Development League, he told The Hatchet.
“I wasn’t satisfied with my situation over there,” Pinnock said. “I’ll probably be (in Washington) for two or three days and hopefully I’ll have a job with someone else.”
Pinnock said his team in Germany, the Gissen 46ers, was unprofessional and played in a high school gym. Pinnock added he keeps in touch with Ronnie Lester, the Los Angeles Lakers’ assistant general manager.
“I’m not a guy who wants to make a career playing in Europe,” Pinnock said.
Pinnock was sitting with GW women’s basketball player Faith Peters watching senior Carl Elliott coach an intramural basketball team at Lerner Health and Wellness Center.
