Karl Hobbs told members of the media Monday morning that he is happy with his team so far this season but still has a long way to go.
“Well, we’ve had moments where we’ve looked pretty good and moments where we have not looked good. I’m pretty pleased in a rebuilding year to find ourselves with three losses as this juncture. We have a long way to go. We’re still evolving as a team and need to find a way to put two halves together.”
Hobbs on UMass:
“I think they are the one team in the league that has five guys that can beat you. All of them are experienced. They have the best two-man combo big guys in the league. I think that they are a team that we’ll have to try to limit their big guys from as many touches that we can. We are going to have to get 75-80 points to win.”
Hobbs said Stephane Lasme and Rashaun Freeman are really nice guys and remind him of Mike Hall and Pops Mensah-Bonsu because it seems like the duo have been playing college basketball for a long time.
Other highlights from his time on the A-10 conference call:
-Hobbs said the crowd played a major role in GW’s win over Marshall.
-Cheyenne Moore won’t practice today. He usually doesn’t practice the day before a game and when he does practice, he is put on a timer to see how long he’s on the court. Hobbs said Moore will probably be hampered all season with this injury. Moore sometimes tries to make plays he physically cannot make.
