Basketball galore

Two exciting things in Wednesday’s edition of The Hatchet. The schedule, which is posted below, and some Danilo (J.R.) Pinnock news.

Pinnock told staff writer Andrew Alberg that a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers was “in the mail” and he expected to sign within days. John Black, the director of public relations for the Lakers, said that Pinnock has not signed and a contract was not on the way. Daniel Servick, his agent, said negotiations are still on going.

The 2006-2007 men’s out-of-conference basketball schedule:

Also, preliminary roster news. Newcomers are: Jeff Del Favero (Freshman from Middletown, Conn., and Xavier H.S.), Damian Hollis (Fort Lauderdale, Fla., J.P. Taravella H.S.), Travis King (New Haven, Conn., Hyde Leadership), Peter Laplante (Johns Island, S.C., Tabor Academy (Mass.)), Hermann Opoku (Vienna, Austria, South Kent H.S. (Conn.))

Two players on GW’s roster hail from South Kent in Connecticut (Chyenne Moore and Hermann Opoku.) Kerry Gonsolves also was there.
