Former Atlanta Braves executive Stan Kasten is now a member of Theodore Lerner’s group to purchase the Washington Nationals. The team is on the selling block for $450 million. According to the Washington Post, Kasten would become the president of the Nationals and would own part of the franchise.
How does this relate to GW? Theodore Lerner is the namsake of the Lerner Health and Wellness Center and a member of the GW board of trustees. He graduated from the GW Law School.
We did a story about it a while back.
Also a good read is Mike Wise’s column on Bud Selig’s desire for minority ownership in the franchise.
We will be covering this extensively when it is announced. Stay tuned.
