Much to my surprise, a roommate of mine sent me a link to a draft stock website this morning. After searching for Mike Hall and Pops Mensah-Bonsu and finding nothing, I scrolled the page to find that the talent evaluators on the site felt that Omar Williams had done the most for his draft stock in the tournament.
Frankly, it is tough to diagree with them. In his two tournament games Williams averaged 15 points and 12.5 rebounds and showed some incredible energy and poise. Coming into the tournament, Omar only flashed glimpses of his talent. During the season’s first contest against Temple, I remember speaking with an NBA scout who said that the the player that disappointed him the most on GW was Williams because he hadn’t really taken advantage of his natural abilities to this point. The article says that he should get a late invite to the Portsmouth pre-draft camp (the one for underrated seniors who haven’t enjoyed much national buzz) and hopefully parlay that into an invite to the Chicago camp and some NBA workouts.
If you want to read the article here it is.
