GREENSBORO, N.C.— GW hesitance caused a shot clock violation with less than a second left as the eighth-seeded Colonials are knotted with the University of North Carolina at Wilmington at 36 at the half.
Sophomore Maureece Rice leads the Colonials with 11 points and seniors Pops Mensah-Bonsu and Mike Hall have six points a piece. The Colonials are shooting 42.9 percent from the floor and 54.5 percent from beyond the arc.
Vladimir Kuljanin’s 10 points leads Wilmington with Beckam Wyrick with seven points. The Seawolves are shooting 58.3 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc.
Junior Danilo (J.R.) Pinnock got his third foul with 12 minutes remaining and had to sit the remainder of the half.
