SJT talked to the Faculty Senate about the Omar situation today. He blasted The Post (The Post’s Dan Steinberg was present UPDATE – Steinberg’s article can be seen here), said it should have held the article for a week, complained that The Post rained on GW’s parade, and maintained that GW did nothing wrong. He did suggest, however, that the NCAA may need more rigorous standards. He also said the Board of Trustees may wind up looking into the situation, and the chair of the Faculty Senate told me that the chair of the Senate’s Athletics Committee is looking into the admissions process for athletes.
