I am pleased to announce Hatchet voters’ pick for 2006-2007 editor in chief: junior Caitlin Carroll.
Caitlin, of Indianapolis, is currently our features editor and last year was assistant news editor and campus news editor. The Hatchet Board of Directors will confirm Caitlin at its next meeting, in May. Caitlin will take over for me in mid-May, starting with the annual Commencement issue.
Caitlin’s had a lot of experiences that I think will help her transition to EIC. She has overhauled the features section, sat on the newspaper’s editorial board and had the unfortunate job of overseeing our Greek coverage last year.
Caitlin’s article was among 13 Hatchet entries that won regional Society of Professional Journalists awards. Her award-winning article, on the “hookup culture,” can be viewed here.
A more complete profile of Caitlin will appear in Thursday’s Hatchet.
