In the first game of the BB&T Classic Navy overcame a eight point halftime deficit to beat American 82-73. It was Navy’s first win of the year while Howard dropped to 0-5

Clif Colbert led Navy with 16 points while David Hooper and Greg Sprink had 12 points a piece.

Darryl Hudson had 19 points for Howard while Louis ford registered 16.

“We’re happy to have been a part of a great event here, and to be part of the Maryland-D.C. basketball community,” Navy head coach Billy Lange said.
