In looking through the all-time tournament records, a few things stand out. Last year’s GW/Maryland game was record setting in many ways. Last season, GW set the bar for the BB&T with field goals in one contest with, set the 3-point percentage at .714 and did not miss one free throw for a 1.00 percentage. In other words, GW played an unbelievably complete game in beating the then-No. 12 Maryland.
Maryland and GW have faced each other seven times in the last 10 years of the tournament, five times in the championship game and once in the consolation. Maryland leads GW 4-3 in the all-time tournament series.
