If you think the Washington Post doesn’t cover GW basketball enough, think again. We have a beat writer for the second year in a row (Dan Steinberg) and there will be a feature on Pops in an issue next week. Pretty cool. GW media day was the same thing as the A-10 media day but with a few players thrown in. Omar Williams, Mike Hall and Danilo (J.R.) Pinnock were in attendance.
Coach Hobbs does not allow freshmen to speak to the media, which makes a basketball preview challenging. This started last year with Maureece Rice and hurts the Hatchet’s coverage but there is no changing Hobbs’ mind. I really hope to see a large crowd at the men’s and women’s preseason games next weekend. They should be fun and give us a chance to see this year’s version of GW basketball.
Check out the basketball preview on Monday for some awesome photos and great stories about the team. We’ve been working really hard on it and it should be really awesome.
