EMeRG received its initial allocation of $6,600 Nov. 23 following more than six weeks of lobbying and petitions to the Student Association. The amount is a 10 percent increase above the allocation the group received last year.
Student Association President Kris Hart said EMeRG completed and submitted its allocation request on time but the SA Finance Committee never received the paperwork.
The Senate passed an emergency allocation bill Nov. 18 to give EMeRG its initial allocation. EMeRG continued normal operations throughout the process, from the annual funding it receives from the University Police Department.
EMeRG Coordinator Kimberly Stambler said, “The SA has been very helpful considering the circumstances.”
