Housing officials announced Friday they will redistribute housing selection numbers to rising sophomores starting Thursday because of a technical glitch that left out the lower half of housing lottery numbers last week.
Other changes include allowing traditional rising sophomores to pull in rising juniors who started attending GW as freshmen in fall 2002 and two new housing options for students studying abroad for the spring semester.
Rising sophomores will be able to sign onto GWeb to get new numbers between 6 a.m. Thursday and 11 p.m. next Tuesday. Rising junior and senior numbers given out March 34-31 will remain valid.
Selection numbers 4,500-7,699, which the housing office gave out March 24-31, will be “cleared, rescinded and considered null and void,” Andrew Sonn, director of housing services, wrote in an e-mail.
Rising sophomores who pull in rising juniors- both of which are currently “freshmen”- can live in 2109 F St., Crawford Hall, New Hall, JBKO, Strong Hall and the West End.
Rising juniors and seniors studying abroad for the fall semester can now live in the Pennsylvania House in addition to the Aston, Hall and Virginia Avenue or Mitchell Hall, or be required to pay for housing for the full year.
Housing officials will also offer an additional housing option for students who are studying abroad for the spring.
