A student reported a burglary after a man entered her New Hall room and sifted through her and her roommate’s belongings before she saw him leave the room March 17, University Police Director Dolores Stafford said.
A jewelry box was later reported missing, Stafford said.
The student said she entered her living room at about 9:30 a.m., and saw the man looking through several bags on her floor, Stafford said.
“She then confronted him and asked him what he was doing and he said, `Oh, nothing,'” Stafford said. “He then walked out.”
UPD has a picture of the suspect from a security camera in the hallway. Police are currently working on a lead, Stafford said.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 6-feet tall, 210 pounds, between 25 and 35 years old. He was wearing a white jacket, a gray hat, jeans and was carrying a black bag.
