Men’s basketball recruit Darnell Miller (6-4 guard; St. Raymond’s, Bronx) is currently on campus making an official recruiting visit. He was joined Wednesday night by Greg Jenkins (6-9 forward; Mt. Vernon H.S., N.Y.).
These two players represent GW’s recruiting focus for this late signing period. Miller has already given GW a verbal commitment, but neither player has signed a National Letter of Intent.
GW has already signed Shawn Davis (6-7 forward; Booker T. Washington H.S., Memphis, Tenn.) and has accepted the transfer of 6-8 center/forward Attila Cosby.
Davis’ situation continues to be up in the air because he has not yet received the ACT score he needs to qualify. Because of this uncertainty, he has visited two junior colleges in Oklahoma and one in Illinois.
It’s not because he doesn’t want to come to GW, said head coach Tom Penders of the junior college visits. It’s to protect himself.
If Davis attends a junior college, he will be released from his binding letter of intent. He averaged 21 points, 16.7 rebounds and 2.8 blocks his senior year.
