Baseball splits local games
The GW baseball team defeated George Mason 8-7 at Barcroft Park Wednesday. Junior Bryan Beggs used a double-play and a fly-out in the ninth inning to earn his second save of the year for the Colonials. GW had three hits and fell 2-0 to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County Tuesday. The Colonials are 5-10.
Gymnastics defeats Towson
The GW gymnastics team defeated Towson University 195.625-195.475 Wednesday night at the Smith Center to set a new school scoring record. More coverage on this match and the match Sunday at West Virginia University in Monday’s Hatchet.
Golf 15th at College of William & Mary
The GW golf team finished 15th out of 24 schools with a two-day score of 631 at the William & Mary Invitational Monday and Tuesday.
Marshall University won the event in Williamsburg, Va., with a score of 598.
