The Colonial women are 0-5 and have been outscored this season 18-1. The season hit a new low Wednesday at George Mason Stadium when the Patriots romped over GW 7-1 to notch GMU’s second-highest point total in school history.
There is consolation in that the Colonial women opened the season 0-6 last year only to finish 11-10-0.
The Patriots rattled off two goals in the first 10 minutes, but GW managed to close it to 3-1 at the half after Kesha Cristoph scored on an assist from fellow sophomore Angelica Caramanica. The Patriots added four more unanswered goals in the second half. Goalkeeper Shannon Ashfield gave up all seven goals. GW was outshot 24-4.
George Mason outscored GW 12-1 in the teams’ last two meetings.
