His return to the Smith Center was as sour as his first game there was sweet. Good Counsel beat DeMatha at the Smith Center Jan. 10 behind Monroe’s 32 points. Monroe, who finished with 11 points, was shut down in the first half, scoring just one point. He didn’t hit his first field goal until 5:14 remained in the fourth quarter. Good Counsel (23-2) is ranked fifth in the nation by USA Today, while DeMatha (21-3) is 20th.
