Men’s basketball coach Mike Jarvis will head to St. John’s University in New York to fill the school’s top coaching spot, St. John’s officials announced June 11.
The Washington Post reported Friday that Jarvis will earn $800,000 a year for seven years under his new contract, but other media outlets reported different figures.
“Mike has proven that with the proper leadership you can achieve your goals,” said GW Director of Athletics Jack Kvancz in a release. “We thank him, wish him well and look forward to the next era of GW basketball.”
Officials announced Thursday that former University of Texas coach Tom Penders will head the GW program.
